CPFC EPFO ​​Provides Update on Operation of Regional Offices in J&K, Ladakh – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

JAMMU, 21 May: Neelam Shami Rao CPFC, EPFO ​​on the last day of his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir provided an update on the functioning of the regional offices in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
She also addressed industry leaders in an interactive session held with FICCI industry leaders as well as other senior EPFO ​​officials including Hemant Jain, FA&CAO, KL Taneja, ACC (HQ), Rizwan Ud-Din, RPFC-I and other officers.
During the review meeting, CPFC was briefed on the progress made by EPFO ​​in UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on several fronts.
She expressed her satisfaction with the functioning and progress made by the offices while suggesting to further increase the coverage and compliance with the law so that more and more people can be covered by the social safety net provided by the EPFO.
She noted challenges such as the UT government’s non-notification of certain sections of the law, the requirement for additional resources in terms of manpower and infrastructure faced by the offices of the region and graciously assured to provide assistance to meet the challenges. .
She instructed UT offices to conduct regular outreach programs. She also mentioned that possibilities would be explored for the opening of a training institute in the region.
Later, an interactive session was held at the Institute of Hotel Management, Rajbagh, Srinagar, attended by representatives of FICCI and other industry leaders including Sheikh Ashiq, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Irfan Ahmad Guju, Chairman, FICCI, Jammu and Kashmir, Mohd Yaseen Khan, Chairman, Kashmir Economic Alliance, among others.
The session focused on increasing the coverage and compliance of the EPF&MP Act 1952 in Jammu and Kashmir, social security benefits available under the law, major initiatives of the EPFO and the challenges faced by different stakeholders.
Addressing industry leaders, Neelam Shami Rao called on them to increase the coverage of the law in Jammu and Kashmir and bring more employees into the social safety net.
Hemant Jain and KL Taneja also addressed the rally.
