Kempenski Hotles has appointed three senior hoteliers as Zone General Managers to oversee a number of the group’s luxury hotels in the Middle East and Africa region.
SÃ©bastien Mariette, Karim Tayach and Manish Nambiar are the new appointments and at the same time they will keep the responsibility of their own hotels as general managers.

Mariette holds a master’s degree as well as a master’s degree in business administration in international hotel management, which he passed with distinction. As regional general manager of the Levant, he now oversees the three Kempinski hotels in Jordan as well as the Kempinski Summerland Hotel & Resort Beirut in Lebanon.
Coming from a successful hotel family, Karim Tayach brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. Based in Qatar, he will not only look after Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl as well as Kempinski Residences & Suites in Doha, but also the Kempinski Hotel Muscat in Oman as well as the Kempinski Al Othman Hotel in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Tayach has worked in the luxury hospitality industry for over 27 years and began his journey as a business management intern at the Hyatt Regency Makkah in Saudi Arabia. He then worked his way up the ranks of his career, moving up food and beverage positions at the Ritz Carlton hotels in Dubai, Doha and Jakarta until he moved up to the next level and became General Manager of the Ritz Carlton Jakarta. Well-known luxury hotel expert in Africa, Manish Nambiar is the new Zone General Manager in charge of this region for Kempinski Hotels. He joined the company in 2004 as Regional Executive Chef and has held several management positions such as Hotel Manager at Kempinski Soma Bay in Egypt or Kempinski Hotel Delhi in India. During his career over the past 17 years, he was appointed General Manager of Kempinski Kenya Cluster, then General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra in Ghana, where he successfully positioned the hotel as market leader.
Nambiar completed his hotel studies at the Indian Institute of Hotel Management and European Executive MBA from Reims Management School.
