Saturday Night Live can be a mixed bag these days. In my opinion, some skits are funny, while others are not. Well, SNL got it right with their latest travel sketch.
The advertising sketch of the SNL hotel
Last weekend, SNL presented a roughly 4-minute-30-second skit titled âHotel Adâ starring Billy Eilish. You can watch it for yourself below.
I don’t want to say too much, so I recommend you watch it for yourself. I burst out laughing several times because there are so many points here that are correct.
Heck, I’m currently staying at a hotel, and just before watching this, I walked in through the lobby, only to find the hotel clerk at the door watching a video on his iPhone without a headset. At least I’m not at the Business Garden Inn & Suites & Hotel Room Inn!
I also love the SNL skits with the actors who can’t keep a straight face, because that makes it all the more fun, in my opinion.
Other SNL hotel sketches
SNL has had several hotel skits over the years, most of which I have enjoyed. For example, I remember the “Hotel Check-In” sketch from about four years ago, about a guy coming back from North Korea, who just wanted to go to his room, but the front desk officer keep trying to get him to go to the hotel bar instead, where he was performing that night.
Then there was the SNL skit âHotel Feesâ from about eight years ago. While the basis for the ad is excellent – some hotels charge an exorbitant number of fees – the skit may have gone a bit too far.
At the end of the line
Last weekend SNL did a skit about an ad for a mediocre business hotel. It’s so fair and made me laugh out loud a few times. If you have a few minutes, feel free to watch the video.
Do you like the SNL hotel commercial as much as I do?
