The Westin Goa has appointed Sharad Singh as Director of Food and Beverage. With over 14 years of experience in operations, strategic planning, marketing and promotions, customer relationship management and bar and restaurant trend detection, he will oversee all aspects of planning and service of the hotel.
In addition to training associates, bartenders, executives and managers with technical knowledge, Singh will also be primarily responsible for inventory, training of hotel staff, assessment of planned needs and maintenance. ordering food and drink for daily operations. Over the years, he has also become an expert in formulating standard operating procedures that keep the department running. His core skills lie in strategy development, policy and procedure formulation, restaurant management, supplier and team management, budgeting, sales and marketing, advertising planning and promotion, public relations, to name a few.
In his previous roles, Singh was associated with well-known brands such as Sheraton Grand in Pune, St. Regis in Mumbai and Marriott Hotels in Pune, Jaipur and Mumbai. Prior to that, he also interned in the Banquets Department at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel, Maryland, USA. In addition to all of the above experiences and awards, Singh graduated with a three-year Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from Naval Institute of Technology in Mumbai.
