  • The hotel is recruiting for dozens of positions including bartenders, cooks, housekeeping and security, among others.
  • It will be the first space-themed hotel on the Space Coast

The Courtyard by Marriott Titusville – Kennedy Space Center is targeting an opening date of March 15, 2022 after starting construction in the summer of 2019.

The project was put on hold for a year due to the pandemic, but was relaunched in the summer of 2021. Designs for the hotel had been underway since 2015, according to Wayne Soard, the hotel’s general manager.

“The first rendering concept was very, very cool and it caught me and the excitement around space and I wanted to be here for it,” Soard said.

Soard signed up for the project in mid-summer 2021 and moved to the Space Coast in October. He has over 30 years of experience in hotel management, primarily with Delaware North, the company facilitating the hotel’s development.

Space-themed murals will be featured in each of the 152 guest rooms, and other cosmic elements are strewn throughout, both inside and outside the hotel.

Delaware North also operates the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, located just 6 miles away. Soard said that like the KSCVC, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the space in addition to enjoying the overall theme of the space.

“We’re working on this as we speak to put more interactive elements into play here,” Soard said. “So that will definitely be something you see in the future. “

The five-story space-themed hotel has the following amenities:

  • 14 extended one-bedroom guest suites
  • Eight walkout rooms on the ground floor – four will have fireplaces
  • Resort-style outdoor pool
  • Bistro and bar on the ground floor with terrace
  • 700 square foot meeting room
  • Charging stations for electric vehicles
  • Rooftop terrace with a bar and restaurant dubbed The Space Bar

The Space Bar is one of the hotel’s main attractions. A separate elevator has been installed, designed to go directly to the bar and bypass the rooms for those who just want the experience.

Just 7.1 miles from the KSC entrance, the hotel is the closest place to stay to Launch Complex 39A and Launch Complex 39B. The first is where SpaceX holds its crewed launches and others and the second is where NASA will launch its Space Launch System (SLS) rockets for the Artemis program to the moon.

Online booking from the hotel is available now, from May and into the future. As the project nears completion, rooms close to opening day will also begin to be available.

When complete, the Courtyard Titusville Kennedy Space Center will support approximately 50 part-time and full-time jobs. A career fair is scheduled for Jan. 13-14 at the U.S. Police Hall of Fame, down the street from the hotel.

  • Day 1 – 2 – 6 p.m.
  • Day 2 – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
